Mudjacking

Last weekend I did my first live band shoot at a bar called Malones downtown. It was for a band called Mudjack whose lead singer I met through work. I knew that my kit lens wasnt going to be good enough to use in the low lighting so I bought a new 50mm lens which has a low aperature (meaning it lets in alot of light and is good to use when there isnt much available) The lens was really cheap ($130) and im excited to get to use it again. I decided to try to shoot in RAW format instead of JPEG this time because I wanted to practice editing with it and also because it lets you have alot more control over adding light then JPEG. This helped alot for some of the pictures because the lighting was terrible at Malones, especially when it came to the drummer and bass player. Here are some of my favourite pics from the gig.
